Cruise Managers:

Prior management/leadership experience preferred. Managers should be positive individuals who lead by example, are responsible, organized and professional. Managers are responsible for coaching their teams to excellence always focused on exceeding our customer’s service expectations. Having direct contact with our customers, Managers must be able to communicate clearly with both spoken and body language. Must be smart-serve certified, safety focused with solid leadership & customer service skills.

Bartenders:

Prior bar work experience preferred. Must be smart-serve certified. Our bartenders fulfill a wide variety of duties and participate in many types of service. Organized, trustworthy and responsible, our bartenders are also friendly! As Mariposa Cruises is focused on the safe service of alcohol and the overall safety of our passengers- professional and responsible service are critical to our success.

F & B Servers: We will train enthusiastic, service-oriented people, the ideal ‘first impressions’ to our customers. Physically strong, smiling people are responsible for a variety of duties and participate with banquet service, weddings and plated service. Must be smart-serve certified, safety conscious and enjoy working in a true team environment. A friendly disposition is definitely required.

Dockhands/Deckhands: Strong work ethic with positive mind set. Duties include daily maintenance, boat washing and shipping & receiving. Must be strong, responsible and organized! To help with safe departure and docking of the vessels by tying and untying the lines. Physically demanding, heavy lifting is required. Deckhands are required to assist in all aspects of set up and tear down for events. Must be smart-serve certified.

Tour Guides & Ticket Agents: We will train personable, positive-minded people who love working a crowd… our tour groups come to us from all over the world. Tour guides are responsible for providing an interactive, educational narrative in an engaging and professional manner. Tours focus on Toronto Harbourfront attractions and interesting facts/legends of our wonderful city. Multilingualism is a definite asset. Must be smart-serve certified. Previous sales and/or retail experience preferred. These are front line positions in our retail program.

General Kitchen Help: Strong work ethic, able to multi-task. Duties include catering prep, dishwashing, shipping & receiving and working banquets. Heavy lifting and working in hot conditions is required. Some experience preferred.

Mariposa Cruises provides the most extensive hospitality and safety training programs in the Harbour. Full initial training and orientation is scheduled on various days throughout mid April. All candidates must attend to be considered for hire. Focus is on Safety and Customer Service.

An extensive vessel safety training program and participation in bi-weekly safety meetings is required for all staff- returning and new. This is required by both Mariposa Cruises and Transport Canada. Mariposa Cruises also provides a presentation by AGCO. All employees must be Smart Serve certified for potential employment.

Accounting Clerks: Requirements are 2-3 years accounting studies, familiar with accounting software (ACCPAC, Quickbooks, Simply Accounting). Proficient in Office (Word, Excel), strong math skills, team oriented, works well under supervision and alone. Good communication skills.

Hospitality Coordinator: Must have prior event planning/administration experience. The Coordinator will be responsible for administrative support required to maintain all matters related to the hospitality department. Responsible for scheduling of staff for all vessels, the ordering of linen, dry goods, beverages, and related supplies. Will also be responsible to coordinate events assigned by the Sales Team.

Event Coordinator: Must have prior event planning/administration experience, excellent written and organizational skills, and be able to work autonomously and in a team-based environment. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating charter assignments turned over by the Sales Department, maintaining client relations, negotiating vendor contracts, customizing menus, creating and distributing event order forms to multiple departments, and participating in site inspections.

Reservations Agent: Do you smile when you speak on the phone?Our busy reservations department requires an enthusiastic individual for our 2013 Season.

The reservations agent will provide accurate information to customers in a professional and friendly manner and process reservations through our online ticketing system.
