At Mariposa Cruises we strive to exceed expectations and provide our guests with the highest levels of quality and service. It’s what sets us apart from our competition and why we are recognized as Toronto’s best recreational cruise by Consumer Choice Award and voted one of the top attractions in Toronto by Trip Advisor. It would be impossible to achieve this without the dedication and hard work that each of our team members exemplifies. For this reason, we want to celebrate our team members and let you get to know them a little bit better.
Mariposa Cruises will be bringing more oomph aboard their annual Oktoberfest Cruise as they transform the Northern Spirit into a floating festhallen, complete with Steam Whistle beer garden on top of the largest outer deck in the Toronto Harbour.
There will be plenty of Bavarian spirit aboard the 4-hour Oktoberfest dinner cruise on Saturday, October 3rd, with a German themed menu, performances by the high-energy German Folk Dance troop The Schwaben Dancers and the opportunity to drink beer from a 1L stein. (more…)

Upon boarding the “Showboat” with my brother, we were shown to our seats and a waiter took our drink orders. This wasn’t going to be a beer-hall type evening, but I couldn’t let the opportunity pass to get into the Oktoberfest spirit and swig from a stein so I ordered 1L of beer. It was a good deal because I even got to keep the stein which now sits above my television.
In three weeks’ time Mariposa Cruises will be hosting our very first Blues Cruise aboard the Northern Spirit on Thursday October 1st.
It will be a night of great food, great city and harbour views and great live music by Toronto blues band Sons of Rhythm.
To get to know our feature act just a little bit better we asked lead singer/bassist Mick Maratta some questions about the band. Here’s what he had to say….
