Mariposa Cruises will be bringing more oomph aboard their annual Oktoberfest Cruise as they transform the Northern Spirit into a floating festhallen, complete with Steam Whistle beer garden on top of the largest outer deck in the Toronto Harbour.
There will be plenty of Bavarian spirit aboard the 4-hour Oktoberfest dinner cruise on Saturday, October 3rd, with a German themed menu, performances by the high-energy German Folk Dance troop The Schwaben Dancers and the opportunity to drink beer from a 1L stein.
There’s no better place to take in the gorgeous Toronto city skyline and harbour views than aboard Mariposa Cruises’ Steam Whistle Beer Garden. Located on the outer deck of the Northern Spirit, guests will be treated to the open air and 360 degree views of the sunset and dazzling city lights at night. Guests can also take in the amazing views while they dine inside the two spacious interior decks which boast plenty of windows.
The Bavarian dinner buffet will be prepared fresh by Mariposa Cruises’ chefs and consists of German classics such as hanchen schnitzel, bratwurst, potato salad, sauerkraut as well as Mariposa Cruises famous blackened roast beef.
As no Oktoberfest celebration is complete without plenty of beer, guests can take advantage of Mariposa Cruises’ Oktoberfest Steam Whistle Special. When they buy 1L of Steam Whistle, they will get to keep the distinctive Steam Whistle Oktoberfest stein. The Steam Whistle Oktoberfest special can be purchased on board or as a special enhancement when buying your Oktoberfest Cruise tickets. Mariposa Cruises’ fully Licensed Cash Bar also serves a great variety of wine, specialty cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and other beer.
A piece of Kitchener-Waterloo’s Oktoberfest will be brought to the Toronto Harbour in the form of The Schwaben Dancers. The German folk dance troop are regular performers at the annual Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest celebration and will be a great addition to Mariposa Cruises’ Oktoberfest Cruise. Dressed in traditional Tracht, they will be showcasing a variety of dancing speeds and styles that stretch the boundaries of German folk dancing. Well known for their selection of non-traditional dances, The Schwaben Dancers have experimented with dancing traditional steps to contemporary music. They have built a reputation of excellence with both German and non-German audiences, alike.
The Schwaben Dancers will be supported by Mariposa Cruises’ DJ, who will be playing a variety of Oktoberfest inspired music to set the mood as well as top 40 to encourage guests to take a spin on the dancefloor.
